Lala la la la LALA ...

So. Apart from teaching lakhs of hours during the last two weeks we had one big thing to look foreward to. Our annual alumni-convention. Matlab a) a whole lot of meetings to attend and people to meet and b) PAAAARTY.

The one thing that brought myself in trouble this time was that this year for the sake of our companies 30th anniversery it was decided that there has to be an SAE-All-Star band. Well, husband being a professional drummer was of course booked for the band and late last week I offered (it was during a veeery late night chat with the band organizer) to do 2nd vocals.

ARGHHH. I used to sing. A lot. But that ended about 15 years ago. So the 5 days leading up to the party I changed from panicking to being excited about every other minute. And the (only) rehersal we had before the gig was , now lets call it - not to encouraging... But as it is with gigs. Standing on a stage improves ones ability about + 90% so the show was cool. I had a blast.

Especially since it was the first time that husband and I shared a stage. Until then it was only him on stage and me behind the mixing desk...So we had a great time.

Time flies when you´re having fun..

Its been about 20 years that I´ve been to Saalbach/Hinterglemm. We went on a week long skiing holiday in 7th standard. So I was curious if I could remember anything. Well I did not. Maybe because there was no snow this time...

But it was beautiful. This years "Anual Austrian Jeep Club Jamboree" was great fun. I love these events. You meet friends you only get to see once or twice a year during those days. You do silly stuff like chipping wood (which I opted out) or get to try out stuff like archery.

And you have lot of time to play around with your car. Christoph and I have a fair use treaty which gives both of us about equal time behind the wheel. This time it was my turn to compete in the trial parcours. I did a 3. Thats good. I had to stop once because the car got stuck. Hence the 3 penalty points. But I did not touch any of the pillars. And thats better then most of the guys did.

And we drove to the top of a 6800 feet high mountain. Great view.

Archery was fun. And I was pretty good. I guess playing Robin Hood as a kid helped me some.

Btw how crazy is it, that I always expected to see some indian film team whenever we crossed a corner?

offroad yay!

For anyone who is interested and for our families (who won´t be asked if they want to) here are some pictures from this years Euro Jeep Camp in/around Umag, Croatia.

Highpoints of this year:

Only a 4,5 hour drive from Vienna (last year we drove about 18 hours to Southern France).

The location of the camp directly seaside was super beautiful.

Food - great finally

Horse riding (anybody who happens to think about publishing pic of me on that horse might find a slow, gruesome death!!!) and kayaking and ATV´ing as extra-vehicular activities among others.

The "former-railway-track" trail with the tunnels and bridge was very cool:

The country side around northern Istria is beautiful and very "Italian"

Flawless rounds for both of us at the Jeep academy:

We met our next car (will be sold in Austria from next Spring)

Our official Jeep Camp 206 Song: "Osterhasi" matlab: "Koi Tumse Nahin" (Krrish)

PS: Yes, it was very dusty - almost as bad as Italy 2003

I need to whine a bit

Picture this:

Todays temperature outside is 32 degrees Celcius. My office has full sun since noon. The aircondition is broken since last summer. So its hot. There is construction work going on in the house for a new aircondition. So its loud. Also a new elevator is being installed and therefore the old one is being dismantled. So its even louder. Its UNBEARABLE. Somebody get me out of here. Anybody?!

loosing my dignity...

...and I so do not care. We´ve just received this:

I did not get the email that annonced its pending arrival, so it came as a total surprise. Oh, I love this thing, its the 8816 Summing Amp from Neve which is a supercool piece of Studiogear.

About the loosing my dignity thing...I am actually running around in school and cradle it like a baby...but I am already getting back to dignified-school-manager mode gradually, I stopped kissing it.
